Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
One part-time (50%) position with benefits starting on the date of hire. Must be available to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Under direct supervision of the Linen Supervisor, distributes clean linen to all departments.
-Orders and stamps clean linen.
-Keeps and maintains logs and records for distribution of new linen into the system.
-Maintains, cleans and organizes the linen room.
-Loads soiled linen into carts.
Special Conditions of Employment:
-Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time; have ability to lift 50 pounds alone and lift 100 pounds with assistance.
-Subject to noise and hazards of moving equipment and rolling stock.
Qualifications:
-Previous directly related linen service experience in a healthcare environment.
-Proven and demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions; works as a team member in a team environment.
-Demonstrated ability to write legibly and compute basic addition and subtraction.
-Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
-Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
-Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
Preferred:
-Recent demonstrated experience working in environmental services/linen department plus experience with vacuuming, dusting, sweeping floors and general cleaning procedures in a health care institution.
-Knowledge of acceptable practices/procedures under title 22 - State of California, cleanliness of laundry.
